England centre Mike Tindall made a return to action for Bath in their Cup defeat at Leeds on Saturday but then ruled himself out of consideration for England’s game against Ireland on Saturday in Twickenham.

25 year old Tindall has been out of action since the end of December when he damaged an ankle in the game against Saracens.

He played the full game against Leeds and had a hand in the only try Bath scored in their 21-10 deafeat at Headingley but immediately after the game declared that he wasn’t ready to make the step up to international level.

“To be honest I’m not right to play international rugby.” he said. “There is a big difference between club rugby and international and I think I need a few more qweeks.” Tindall rejoins the national squad today.

The Irish squad has re-assembled to prepare for the trip to Twickenham and Eddie O’Sullivan will name his 22 tomorrow (Tue) from the team HQ at City West Hotel.

Meanwhile, France will be without utility back Pepito Elhorga for
Sunday’s clash with Wales at the Millennium Stadium after the Agen player pulled a calf muscle. He will replaced by Cedric Heymans of Toulouse.
