Twenty one points to the good at the end of a rain soaked first half, Ulster ended hanging on for dear life before claiming the Celtic Cup on a 27-21 scoreline at rain sodden Murrayfield.

Best and Rowen Frost left Ulster in what looked an unassailable position at the break. However Edinburgh came back with tries from Simon Webster and Derick Lee to leave just a score separating the sides.

Man of the Match David Humphreys eased his side out to ten points with a 79th minute penalty but a try from Mike Blair converted by Chris Paterson reduced the gap to three with two minutes of injury time still to be played.

Humphreys settled the issue with the final kick of the game, a penalty in the fifth minute of added time.
