Connacht Face Pau In Round 2

Following their marvellous aggregate win over Beziers, Michael Bradley’s Connacht now face another French side, Pau in Round 2 of the Parker Pen Challenge Cup.

Next up for Michael Bradley’s Connacht in the second round of the Parker Pen Challenge Cup is French outfit Pau who will travel to Ireland on the second weekend of the New Year for the first leg of the tie with the return taking place a week later in Stade du Hameau.

Pau accounted for Parma in the opening round, winning 33-28 in Parma and closing the deal at the weekend with a 25-6 victory in France. They include in their side six French internationals, former Wallaby lock Garrick Morgan and former Welsh fly-half Arwel Thomas. So the task facing the Connacht men is formidable to say the least, and if they were to get over the next French test then awaiting them in the quarter-final will be the winner from the Narbonne v London Irish game.

Their preparation for the next round of the Challenge Cup comes in the form of a clash Munster in the Celtic League on January 2nd in Dubarry Park.
