Ulster will play Edinburgh Rugby in the final of the Celtic Cup following Edinburgh’s surprise one point win, 26-25 over Connacht at The Sportsground.

Ulster booked their place in the final with a gutsy 20-13 win over Glasgow Rugby in Hughenden and Connacht were confidently expected to join them in the decider. However, Edinburgh scuppered those plans with that win in Galway. They raced into a 14 point lead but Connacht clawed their way back and trailed 14-10 at the break before going into an 18-14 lead when Darren Yapp scored his second try and Eric Elwood landed a penalty.

The Scots followed with tries from Derick Lee and Brendan Laney to take a decisive lead and despite a late Connacht fight-back, held on for the narowest of victories.
