beat Munster 33-26 in the Celtic League at St Helens on Saturday.
Munster outscored their hosts by four tries to three, but 18 points from Henson
handed his side the crucial win. Munster started well when full-back Jeremy
Staunton crashed over for the opening try. He added the extras before the Ospreys
struck back with a try of their own from centre James Storey, which Henson also
converted. Dave Tiueti made it two for the Ospreys moments later when he finished
off a great move by his backline. Henson added another conversion to make it
20-7.
Next it was David Wallace’s turn to cross the line, after Mossie Lawlor made
a great break down the line, but Staunton’s failure to convert would prove crucial
later on. Henson added another penalty to leave it 23-12 at the break. Seven
minutes into the second half The Ospreys scored their final try from scrum-half
Andy Williams, and Henson again added the extras.
Mike Mullins’ try and Staunton’s conversion brought Munster within touching
distance but Henson added another penalty to seal the win. Munster scored another
consolation try from Staunton in the dying minutes, which he converted, but
despite the late surge they couldn’t catch their Welsh opponents.
