Starting with six players who should figure in Eddie O’Sullivan’s RWC squad, – Anthony Horgan, Peter Stringer, Keith Wood,Paul O’Connell, Alan Quinlan and David WallaceMunster not surprisingly, proved much too strong for the Michael Bradley coached Connacht side at the Sportsground in Galway this afternoon (Friday).

It was Wood who opened the scoring with a try after 10 minutes and ninety minutes later, Henry Bourke scored the game’s final try, a consolation score for the home side who ended up losing 38-12.

Anthony Horgan and Conrad O’Sullivan followed up Wood’s score with a try apiece as Munster raced into a 19 point lead. Conor O’Loughlin scored his side’s first try at the end of the opening quarter and as the traffic increased from the sideline with players coming on and going off, Munster centre,Jason Jones-Hughes, helped himself to a hat-trick of tries before David Hewett added the points to Bourke’s try to end the affair, very much in Munster’s favour.

Meanwhile, in Ravenhill, Ulster were turned over by London Irish losing 33-26 having raced into a 14 nil lead. (details on www.ulsterrugby.ie).
