An ongoing ankle injury has forced Munster wing John O’Neill to announce his retirement from all levels of competitive rugby with immediate effect.

An ongoing ankle injury has forced Munster wing John O’Neill to announce his retirement from all levels of competitive rugby with immediate effect. The 29 year old has been troubled by the ankle injury since aggravating it in Poland this time last year while on a national trainingcamp.

He made a brief return to action in the early stages of the Celtic League but never fully recovered fitness and now on medical advice has opted out of the game.
