Bank of Ireland Northern Ireland yesterday announced agreement with the Ulster Branch of the Irish Rugby Football Union to sponsor the Ulster rugby
team for another three years.

Colm McKenna, Head of Group Marketing for the Bank in Northern Ireland,
said: “This is the third successive three-year contract between the Bank and Ulster Rugby and will take us through to the end of the 2006 season.

“The fact that our relationship has endured since 1997 is a tribute to the
quality and tenacity of successive Ulster XVs who have demonstrated time and time again their ability to play extremely exciting rugby.”

The sponsorship deal signed at Ravenhill yesterday (Wednesday) involves payments
amounting to a significant six-figure sum, a small part of which is performance related. The Bank has a further option to renew at the end of the three seasons.
