O’Driscoll Could Face His Old Teammates

Mick O’Driscoll could end up playing against his former Munster team-mates in the Pool stages of Heineken Cup following sanctions against Bourgoin which could see the French club removed from the European competition next season. Bourgoin have been relegated for failing to comply with strict financial guidelines and if that sanction is upheld by the CNOSF (French National Olympic and Sporting Committee ), then they will not compete in next year’s Heineken Cup.

In that event, the speculation is that Perpignan who were seeded six will move up a place and become the fifth seed, in which case they will be in Munster’s group along with Gloucester and Benneton Treviso.
