The All Blacks ran in eight tries to defeat Wales, 55-3 in rain soaked Hamilton today after the Welsh out-half Stephen Jones had given his side an early lead with a penalty. However that score was to be the only one registered by the tourists who lost Colin Charvis mid way through the opening half, injured in a tackle by impressive All Black number 8, Jerry Collins.

The home side responded quickly to the Jones strike with a try from Doug Howlett and a second from out-half Carlos Spencer and from then on totally dominated the game.
