Guinness Rugby Writers of Ireland Awards 2003

The Rugby Writers of Ireland have named Geordan Murphy as their Player of the Year 2003, while Clontarf have won the Club of the Year award.

The Rugby Writers of Ireland have nominated Geordan Murphy as their Player of the Year 2003, while Clontarf, the club who ran away with the AIB League but were beaten in the final play-off, have won the Club of the Year award.

The Tom Rooney Memorial
Award, presented for an exceptional contribution to Irish rugby, has been won by Brian O’Brien of Munster and Ireland, current Irish Team Manager.

Two new members were inducted into the Guinness Hall of Fame, they
are Niall Brophy and Robin Thompson.

The awards were presented by Charlie Mulqueen, Chairman of the Rugby Writers of Ireland and
Pat Barry (Guinness) at a banquet in The Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, last night (Wednesday).
