Australian coach Eddie Jones will name a 24 strong Wallaby squad on Monday, 26th May for the 2003 Bundaberg Rum Rugby Series which includes the game against Ireland in Perth.

“We’ve got a lot of decisions to make over the next week,” said Jones. “We’ve been testing players from New South Wales and Queensland to assess our state of fitness.”

Jones will bring the contenders, for places in the Senior and A squad, together in Sydney on Wednesday, 21st May, for a one-day training camp although members of the ACT Brumbies will not be tested, due to their appearance in the Super 12 playoffs, until the following day, Thursday.

“Our first Test against Ireland is less than three weeks away so this is a good opportunity to get the players together to refocus on a demanding international season.” explained Jones.

The 2003 Bundaberg Rum Rugby Series will see the Wallabies play Ireland in Perth, followed by the game against Wales in Sydney and then England in Melbourne over consecutive weekends starting from June 7th.
