O’Gara Commits to Ireland.

Ireland out-half Ronan O’Gara has officially responded to media speculation regarding the interest shown by American football side, Miami Dolphins in signing him for the grid-iron game

Ireland out-half Ronan O’Gara has officially responded to media speculation regarding the interest shown by American football side, Miami Dolphins in signing him for a career in the grid-iron. O’Gara was as surprised as any to see media reports linking him to the American pro football team, although the matter had been raised in a very informal way through an agent acting on behalf of the Americans.

In a statement issued today (Mon 17th March), through Slattery Communications, O’Gara re-affirmed his commitment to Irish rugby.

O’Gara is quoted as saying, “While acknowledging an informal conversation with an agent representing the Miami Dolphins, I would like to categorically stae my commitment to Irish rugby for the remainder of my contract, to the end of the Six Nations championship, 2004. In the meantime, I am calling a formal closure on the issue and ask for understanding in that regard.”
