Munster will begin their preparation for the Heineken Cup quarter-final with a game against Scottish Borders in Thomond Park on this day (Wed) week (7.30pm). The cancellation of the A international means that Munster will have their A players available and they will also use the match to bring players like Paul O’Connell, Anthony Horgan and Dominic Crotty back into the fold.

Horgan returned to action last weekend when he played at full-back for Cork Constitution against Sunday’s Well and his re-habilitation will continue this weekend when he turns out for his club in the AIB League game against Co Carlow in Temple Hill.

O’Connell will be involved with the national today (Wed) and tomorrow and he hopes to be in the Young Munster side that plays Dolphin in Musgrave Park on Saturday.
