Ronan O’Gara will be included in the Ireland squad for the game against France on Saturday week, when it is announced later today. The out-half took a full part in training yesterday at Ireland’s squad session and showed no ill-effects afterwards. In the event that he suffers no re-action, then he will turn out for Cork Constitution in their AIB League clash with UL Bohemians at Thomond Park tomorrow.

Confirming O’Gara’s well-being, team manager Brian O’Brien said, ” Ronan has done all that was asked of him during our two day get together. He trained yesterday and came through that fine, it’s a question of so far so good at this stage.”
” Now he hasn’t played since the Celtic League final and that was a month ago so he’ll play for his club on Saturday and we’ll see how he is after that.”

As Marcus Horan is expected to be named in the starting line up for the French game, he will turn out for Shannon against Blackrock as will Alan Quinlan and they will be opposed by their Ireland team-mate, Leo Cullen.

Both Girvan Dempsey and Shane Horgan remain on the doubtful list and both have been asked to rest their injuries which will be assessed on Monday.
