French skipper, scrum-half Fabien Galthie has been ruled out of the March 8th clash with Ireland at Lansdowne Road after dislocating his shoulder in last weekend’s match with Scotland.

The inspirational number 9 had a scan on the injured shoulder yesterday and it is thought likely that he will also miss the game with Italy (March 23rd).

He was replaced in the Scottish game by Dimitri Yachvili (Biarritz) who will probably be promoted to the starting line-up for the Irish game.
France will announce their 22 player squad for that game tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Reggie Corrigan will be out of action for between six to eight weeks after undergoing surgery on the wrist injury he picked up in the win over Italy. He will definitely miss the remainder of the Six Nations campaign but has not given up hope of leading Leinster in their Heineken Cup quarter-final clash with Biarritz on the second weekend in April.

Former international wing, Niall Woods has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Irish Rugby Union Players Association (IRUPA).
