There is just one change on the Ireland side, from the one that started against Scotland, for Saturday’s clash with Italy, with Geordan Murphy being named on the wing in place of the injured Shane Horgan.

Murphy’s promotion to the starting line-up means a place on the bench for Rob Henderson who scored two tries in the A game last Saturday night.

David Humphreys, not surprisingly, holds onto his place at out-half with Ronan O’Gara listed among the replacements.

Girvan Dempsey; Geordan Murphy, Brian O’Driscoll capt., Kevin Maggs, Denis Hickie; David Humphreys , Peter Stringer; Reggie Corrigan, Shane Byrne, John Hayes; Gary Longwell, Malcolm O’Kelly; Victor Costello, Keith Gleeson, Anthony Foley.

Replacements: Marcus Horan, Frank Sheahan, Leo Cullen, Alan Quinlan, Ronan O’Gara, Guy Easterby, Rob Henderson.
