Heineken Cup Quarter-Final Dates Decided

The Leinster Lions will take on Biarritz on Saturday April 12th while Munster will be in action the following day, Sunday 13th, against Leicester Tigers in the Heineken Cup quarter-final

The Leinster Lions will take on Biarritz on Saturday April 12th while Munster will be in action the following day, Sunday 13th, against Leicester Tigers in the Heineken Cup quarter-finals. Although the dates have now been finalised, the actual venues have yet to be decided on with a decision on that aspect expected to be announced, according to ERC, in the coming weeks.

The draw for the semi-finals which will be played on 26th/27th April, will take place on Monday next, 27th January, in order for suitable 20,000-plus venues to be sourced.

The draw will take place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel at London Heathrow and will be made by ERC Chairman Jean-Pierre Lux and Lions and Wales legend Ray Gravell.
Among those attending will be Austin Healey (Leicester Tigers and double Heineken Cup winner), Gareth Jenkins and Scott Quinnell (Llanelli, coach and Lions and Wales No 8 respectively), Paul O’Connell (Munster and Ireland international lock), Christian Warner (Leinster Lions outside half), Trevor Brennan (Toulouse and Ireland back row forward), Marcel Martin (Biarritz Olympique President), Alejandro Moreno (Perpignan and Italian international prop) and a star player from Northampton Saints whose name is not yet known.

Friday 11th April: Llanelli v Perpignan, 1930.

Saturday 12th April: Toulouse v Northampton Saints, 1645FR2/ British Eurosport. Leinster Lions v Biarritz Olympique, 1530 – FR2/RTE

Sunday 13th April: Leicester Tigers v Munster, 1600 – BBC Sunday Grandstand/RTE
