Ireland Women’s Squad.

The Ireland Womens squad to play Scotland in the opening Six Nations game will be announced on Monday next following on from the trial game that took place in Cooke RFC last Sunday

Following a trial game at Cooke RFC on Sunday last where an Ireland selection played an Ireland A selection, the country’s final 22 player squad to face Scotland in this year’s opening 6 Nations game will be announced on Monday January 27th.

Newcomers expected to feature on the squad should include Nottingham out-half Joanne O’ Sullivan who joined the squad earlier this season and young Shannon number eight Joy Neville.
Nineteen year old Neville, whose brother Paul represents Connacht, hugely impressed in this years Interprovincial Series and will look to make an impact on the International scene this year.

There have been a host of new faces taking part in Ireland’s extended training squad in the run up to this years Championship and all will hope to make the final line up.

A plethora of these International hopefuls will be on show at the weekend in Limerick where the Women’s AIL Division 1 semi-finals will take place.

Holders UL-Bohs host Cork side Highfield while beaten 2001 finalists Shannon entertain Cooke on Sunday 26th.
