Wales A Side Scrapped.

Media reports today suggest that the Welsh Rugby Union have finally decided to withdraw their A side from all Six Nations fixtures for the coming season

Media reports today suggest that the Welsh Rugby Union have finally decided to withdraw their A side from all Six Nations fixtures for the coming season. It is believed that the WRU yesterday informed the relevant authorities that they be withdrawing their side from the A championship.

The side were due to open their account against England at Wrexham on February 21st and were scheduled to play Ireland in Cardiff a month later.
However, because of spiralling costs, it had been decided before Christmas to cut the side, coached by former Leinster coach, Mike Ruddock, and that decision has now been ratified by WRU directors.
