Heineken Cup Resumes

Munster and Ulster’s future in this season’s Heineken Cup will become a little clearer after next weekend when the competition resumes, both sides playing away from home with Munster in France and Ulster in Wales.

Munster face the tougher task with a game against a Perpignan side who can still qualify for the latter stages while Ulster take on a Cardiff outfit who have yet to earn a point.

Munster will be without two key players, Paul O’Connell and Anthony Horgan, who both picked up injury at the weekend and this is a game that Munster must win or face elimination.

Ulster, already without the services of Ryan Constable, Jonathan Bell and Tyrone Howe prior to the Munster game suffered further bad news with the loss of Warren Brosnihan and Adam Larkin in the course of that semi-final defeat.

Leinster, already through, can guarantee themselves a home quarter-final when they entertain Swansea and Matt Williams will have a full deck to deal from when he selects his side later in the week.Heineken Cup 2002 / 2003
