The Ireland Development XV went down 24-12 to Argentina in a wet, windy and misearble Donnybrook in front of a small atendance. Four first half penalties from Mark McHugh kept Irish noses in front before a late try from Hernan Senillosa just before the break gave the visitors an advantage they never subsequenly ceded. They increased their lead when a succession of errors gave Martin Gaitan a run in, nine minutes into the second half and minutes from the end replacement Mauricio Reggiardo made the game safe when he was credited with the push-over try.
