Peter Stringer, the reserve scrum-half for tomorrow’s international against Fiji suffered a slight injury this morning and Neil Doak has been called into the squad as a precaution
A training ground accident to reserve scrum-half Peter Stringer this morning (Sat), means a call-up to the Ireland squad for Ulster number 9 Neil Doak ahead of tomorrow’s permanent tsb international against Fiji at Lansdowne Road.
However, Stringer’s mishap is not considered serious as IRFU Press Officer, John Redmond explained.
“Peter stubbed a thumb in training this morning. It is not a serious concern but Neil has been called into the squad purely as a precautionary measure.”
The Ireland squad were due to train this morning at Greystones RFC but because of the pitch conditions, following the heavy rainfall, they switched their session to Belfield.
