Wood Not Available For Argentine Game

16/11/2002. Keith Wood has informed the team management that he will not be available for selection for the permanent tsb international against Argentina.

Keith Wood has informed the Irish team management that he will not be available for selection for the permanent tsb international between Ireland and Argentina at Lansdowne Road on Saturday, November 23rd.
Having been out of the game because of a neck injury, Wood returned last weekend for Harlequins, but today confirmed he has decided, “to take a rest from the game for a few weeks.”

Meanwhile, the IRFU has again confirmed that despite the heavy rainfall in the Dublin area, there is no doubt but that Suday’s game against Fiji will go ahead. Ground staff at Lansdowne Road have been working round the clock to clear surface water from the pitch and that work will continue in order to ensure the game is played.
Tomorrow (Saturday), weather permitting, the Irish team will train at Greystones RFC.
