Hooker Adam Freier and flanker David Croft are the new caps named on the Australian bench for the game against Argentina at River Plate stadium, Buenos Aires.

Freier could find himself pitched into the hot seat at a fairly early stage of the game as Jeremy Paul is still struggling to get over a hamstring injury aggravated at training on Tuesday.

Owen Finegan has failed a fitness test on an injured ankle and will not play, his place goes to either Dan Vickerman or David Giffin, with a a final decision on that position expected after the Captain’s run on later today (Friday). Should Vickerman get the nod ahead of Giffin it will be his first starting cap.

Fullback Mat Rogers will make his run-on debut against the Pumas after playing the domestic Test season off the bench.

Toutai Kefu will play his 50th Test for Australia on Saturday against the Pumas.
