It was really a question of Leinster boosting their try count against an opposition who never looked remotely likely to make a contest of this game once Leinster had gained control and by half-time, the game was well and truly over as a contest with Leinster leading 37-3.

Earlier in the afternoon, Connacht made sure of their place round two of the Parker Pen Challenge Challenge Cup with a facile 47-29 victory over Mont De Marsan at Crowley Park.

In other Heineken Cup games, Bristol beat Montferrand 24-19; Biarritz snatched a last gasp 23-20 win over Northampton and Leicester thumped Calvisano in a 10 try 63-0 victory at Welford Road.
