Munster Defeat Neath at The Courage Gnoll

Tries from Mossie Lawlor, Jim Williams, Frankie Sheahan and Ronan O’Gara gave Munster a 35-19 win over Neath at the Courage Gnoll.

Four tries from Mossie Lawlor, Jim Williams, Frankie Sheahan and Ronan O’Gara
gave Munster a 35-19 win at the Courage Gnoll in Neath. Munster began by placing
heavy pressure on Neath by scoring two converted tries in the first half, as
well as two penalties by Ronan O’Gara who had a very impressive game. The first
half ended in Munsters favour, 20 points to 9.

However Neath did come back into the game, and started applying pressure on
Munster midway through the second half. A yellow card given to Simon Kerr gave
Neath the advantage of an extra man. They opted to run a penalty and drive towards
to the Munster line. Munster managed to hold them off, but gave away a penalty,
Neath ran again, and drove over the Munster line, Duncan Jones the try scorer,
Jarvis converted, to take the score to Munster 30 Neath 19.

In the end Munster were too strong for Neath, and further tries from Frankie
Sheahan and Ronan O’Gara clinched the deal for Munster. The final score at the
Courage Gnoll was 35 points to 19 in Munsters favour, and gaurranteed Munster
a place in the Celtic League Quarter Final.
