Although named in the starting line-up, there is a slight doubt abou captain Keith Wood ahead of the match against Georgia at Lansdowne Road (3pm) next Saturday. Wood is suffering from a sore neck that manifested itself on the journey home from Krasnoyarsk according to coach Eddie O’Sullivan, “Keith had a bit of soreness in his neck and didn’t train today. It is something we will monitor closely and obviously give it a few days to see does it clear up. I don’t think it’s anything really serious but for the moment we will just wait and see.”

In the event that Wood has to sit out this game then Shane Byrne will come into the side with Frank Sheahan the likely one to be called up to the bench.

The other one to sit out training yesterday was Ronan O’Gara> who had a sore knee but he is expected to be fully fit in time to take his place in the side on Saturday.
