We Achieved What We Set Out To Achieve – Eddie O’Sullivan

Speaking immediately after their 35-3 victory, Ireland coach Eddie O’Sullivan said he was ‘reasonably’ happy with his side’s performance

” It was a question of mission accomplished really. We had to travel half way around the world for this game and given all the circumstances it was never going to be easy. We knew that. Now we’ve achieved our primary objective so I have to be happy with that. Of course there were aspects of our play that we need to work at, the line-outs for example, but as I said, given the circumstances, I’d say we’d have to be pleased with the performance.”
“It was a long haul to get here. It was very hot out there and there seemed to be a sense of tiredness among the players, but we’ve accomplished the first stage of the task and now we’ll set about preparing for the game against Georgia in a week’s time.”
