21/09/2002. Ireland completed their Siberian task with a four try, 35-3 victory over Russia at the Centralny Stadium in Krasnoyarsk today.

Ireland completed their Siberian task with a four try, 35-3 victory over Russia at the Centralny Stadium in Krasnoyarsk today.
Girvan Dempsey scored two first half tries for Ireland who led 18-0 at half time.

The Irish started strongly in the second half and extended the lead in the 53rd minute when Keith Wood scored, following good approach work by Keith Gleeson.
Ronan O’Gara converted that try and also added the points to Malcolm O’Kelly’s 61st minute try.
A further penalty from O’Gara made it 35-0 before Russia opened their account with a peanlty in the 78th minute.

Final score: Russia 3-35 Ireland.
