A try from Marnus Uijs, converted by Eric Elwood gave Connacht a last gasp 23-22 win over Cardiff in the Sportsground this evening (Friday). Connacht led 16-0 at half time, having had the advantage of the wind in the opening half.
However, within ten minutes of the restart that lead had been eroded when three tries from Craig Morgan (2) and Nick Robinson (2cons and a pen), had the visitors 22-16 in front. Connacht stuck to their guns and were rewarded with that late winning score. Robinson had the opportunity to snatch victory with a penalty deep in injury time but his effort went wide.
