Russian RWC Qualifier Squad

Russia’s South African coach James Stoffberg, has chosen a group of 36 players to prepare for the World Cup qualifiers, their opening game being against Ireland in Krasnoyarsk, on September 21st.

Of the three teams involved in the qualifying round – Ireland, Georgia and Russia – two go directly to Australia. The third team is involved in a play-off with a team from the other qualifying pool – theoretically Romania or Spain – for the right to go into repechage.

Russia would undoubtedly have its main focus on the Tiblisi match – as would Georgia.
Three of the players in the Ruissian squad are South Africans – Tenk Hendriks, Renier Volschenk and Werner Pieterse.
