New Coaches in town

Former Wallaby U21 supremo, John Warr, is set to join Garryowen as coach, whilst Christy Cantillon has been named as Cork Constitution’s new coach for the coming 2002/2003 season.

Warr, from new South Wales, is set to to inherit the vacant position left by Andy Earle who earlier this month annoucend that he was leaving the Dooradoyle club for Dungannon.

Warr will meet with Garryowen officials over the next few days, to finalize contractual issues. An official announcement is expected at the end of next week.

In other news, the former Munster and Ireland A player, Christy Cantillion has been confirmed as the replacement coach for Brian Hickey at Cork Constitution. Brian’s departure from Cork Constitution is due to his new position as assistant to Munster manager Alan Gaffney.

Cantillon is known and respected throughout Munster for scoring that infamous try in Munster’s spectular 12-0 victory over the All-Blacks in Thomond Park in 1978.
