Mood Swings

Before the first Test in Dunedin if would have been easier to find the abominable snowman rather than someone who actually believed that Ireland could beat the All Blacks.

But the mood in Auckland is different, people here willing to admit that You Irish could just do it.
And even those who’ll say. I think you’ll win and hope you do.

You see this is Auckland Blue country and people here are not best pleased that 14 of the 15 in the All Black line-up are from the Cantebury Crusaders.

Scott Hobson from Mellons Bay reasons that It would be like the Irish picking 14 of the Munster side. I mean what would the re-action be in Ireland. Do you imagine that a Munster XV could beat an international side say, the All Blacks?

Well Scott there’s them down south who would say, Sure why not. We’ve done it already.

Peter Sharma from Orakei takes a firmer line. I’m not even going to the game mate, my side is the Blues not the Crusaders a clear rejection of John Mitchell’s selection.

What the hell does Mitchell think he’s at. asks Hayden Moore from Ponsonby. You guys kick the crap out of em in Dunedin, and he goes and throws in more Crusaders. It don’t make no sense.

According to Bruce Elliott who lives in the Freeman Bay area. Mitchell hasn’t been able to conjure a convincing performance from the side yet. You guys should’ve beaten them in Dublin and Dunedin. The Argies nearly beat them they weren’t that hot against Italy either. So if you ask me Mitch just doesn’t have it.

Whether he has or not, there is no question that he will be under pressure to produce the goods on Saturday night.
