Ireland Trail At Half time

15/06/02. A try from Doug Howlett in the 36th minute, converted by Andrew Mehrtens gave the All Blacks a 10-3 half time lead at Carisbrook Stadium today.

Ireland got off to the ideal start when Brian O’Driscoll dropped a goal in the 7th minute after a bout of sustained Irish pressure. Mehrtens equalised with a penalty two minutes later and late in the half Howlett scored a marvellous try after a neat blindside break by Mehrtens
