Leicester claim European Cup for a second time

16.40 Cardiff : For the second year in a row, Leicester have won the Heineken European Cup, and in the process have destroyed Munsters dream at claiming the title.

With a final score of 15-9, Leicester beat Munster, and so denied Munster of their ultimate. Victory in the European Cup.

Munster led at half time by 6-5, but this margain was to prove too small to put a stay on Leicester, and in the end Leicester proved too strong a force.

Try scorers Geordan Murphy and Austin Healey finalised Leicesters project, and the foot skills of Tim Stimpson added to their performance.

Munsters tally of 9 points, came from 3 penalties scored by Ronan OGara, but his endeavours proved to be futile.
