Willie Anderson to Assist Williams in Leinster

09/05/02. It was announced yesterday that Willie Anderson will take over from Alan Gaffney, as assistant coach to the Leinster team.

Anderson was formally confirmed as Leinster’s new assistant coach in succession to the Munster-bound Alan Gaffney yesterday in a three year deal which is in keeping with Williams’ contract period.

Anderson was unofficial forwards coach to the Irish pack in the early 90s, and in more recent times coached Dungannon to victory in the AIB League. This season he was also in charge of the Ireland Under 19 World Cup squad.
