Belfast Harlequins End on Winning Note.

04/05/02.Andre Bester’s Belfast Harlequins ended their season in fine style with a 43-29 win over UL Bohemians in an entertaining and highly competitiive AIB League Division 3 final.

Played in sun drenched conditions at Lansdowne Road, Harlequins opened the scoring with a try in the opening minutes from centre Andy Lowe and from then until the final whistle the shirt sleeved crowd were treated to an open expansive game of rugby.

Bohs responded with a fine try from Rob Desmond which Ian Costello converted but the Belfast responded with a brace from Neil Best and Johhny Lowe and they went into the break leading 26-24.

Bohs opened the scoring in the second half with a superb solo effort from wing Keith Mattthews but Harlequins always had that bit in reserve and they had further tries from Rhys Boths and substitute Andy Park to emerge deserving winners.
