Foley Struggling To Be Fit

01/05/02.Munster No 8 Anthony Foley faces a race against time in his effort to be fit for Munster’s Heineken Cup final clash with Leicester in Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on May 25th

Foley injured a shoulder AC joint in the semi-final clash with Castres and believes it will take up to three weeks at least to heal. That means he will miss the Interprovincial clash with Ulster on May 10th and although coach Declan Kidney refuses to rule the Shannon player out of the Cardiff game at this stage, the chances of him making the final starting line up are slim. The positive news is that Ronan O’Gara continues to make a good recovery from the knee gash that required 13 stitches while Jim Williams also continues to make good progress in his recovery from a damaged calf tear. Neither player will obviously be involved in this weekend’s AIB League final but would be targetting the Ulster game on May 10th as a possible return match.
