D Day for Munster

27/04/02. It’s D Day for Munster and their huge throng of supporters who stand just eighty minutes away from their second Heineken Cup final appearance in three years.

The sun shone and a light cooling breeze blew as the Munster players drifted in for breakfast in the Chateau Residence de Bionne outside Montpellier.

Former international Derek Hegarty joined the squad yesterday (Fri), flown out by the management as cover because Peter Stringer had suffered a slight knock but the move is seen as purely precautionary.

Other than that, all the players reported fit and well ahead of the formidable task of facing Castres in the Stade de la Mediterranee.

Munster will leave their hotel with police outriders just before one pm expecting to arrive in the Stade at 1.45 approx.
