The Munster supporters began drifting into Montpellier yestreday sporting,
in
the main the Munster Red, bringing a message of support to their side none
more defiant than that carried by a pair from Limerick
Ken Barrett and Charlie Carter wore red polo shirts with the messagge –
‘Bitten
and Burnt but Not Beaten’ emblazoned across their backs aong with the number
three. Proud though they were of their design Carter was still bemoaning the
fact that his pal Barrett had ignored the advice given ” I told him Claw
wore
the number one jersey.”
Further down the street from where Barrett and Carter were disporting
themselves, there was a fairly battered motorbike (small) parked up with the
76 LK registration number covered in dust.
And outside Fitzpatricks bar Shannon legend Noel Healy was greeting passers
by
with his normal quota of wit and welcome. Noel had driven over accompanied
by
Barnaby Ross, the pair left Ireland on Tuesday at 5.30 pm driving the
Munster
equipment van to arrive at the team hotel outside Montpellier yesterday
(Thursday) at 2pm. “It was important to be here, for the boys to see the van (emblazoned in the Munster colours) when they arrived” explained Healy.
No effort spared to help Munster on Saturday.
