Munster On Their Way.

25/04/02.Once again the good ship Munster sets sail for southern climes in their quest to reach the Heineken Cup final for the second time in two years. The squad flies out from Cork today.

Two years ago they headed for Bordeaux and a clash with mighty Toulouse and this time around their destination is a few hours further south and the equally daunting task of fronting up to their January conquerors, Castres.

And they will have to play in the sweltering heat of Beziers’s Stade de la Mediterranee where temperatures this week have reached 25 degrees centigrade. However, on the plus side, they are set to have their biggest support ever, with up to 10,000 Munster supporters expected to be on hand to cheer on a side who are without question the best thing that has ever happened to the competition organisers, ERC.

Munster will arrive in Montpelier at 2.30 pm (local), transfer by coach to the team hotel, and have a light training run in Montpelier RFC in the late afternoon.

They bring a 25 strong squad, with the final starting line up due to be revealed at a joint press conference with Castres at the match venue on Friday at 1.45pm (local).
