Lost In France.

08/04/02. There was defeat at every level in France over the weekend with the only consolation coming at A and Students level, both winning their respective championships.

On Friday night the A side went down 30-20 in Le Roche sur Yon after getting off to a slow start which saw them trail 17-3 after eighteen minutes.

On the other side of the country, Ciaran Fitzgerald’s Under 21s were caught by two late penalties – the winner coming three minutes into injury time – as they went down 22-21 and in Figeac, the Students were beaten 27-21.

In Rodez, a strong second half performance gave the French Schools a 34-13 win over the Irish Schools.

Elsewhere, in Leeds, the Ireland Youths ended their Four Nations Tornament losing 36-11 to Scotland.
