Field Not Happy With Referee’s Performance

08/04/02. Student team manager, former Irish international Maurice Field, was far from happy with the performance of the Italian referee in Friday’s game in Figeac.

His Ireland Students side went down 27-21 in their final game of the championship and Field was furious with the performance of the referee. The Irish trailed 24-18 at half time with tries from number eight Des Dillon and right wing Sheldon Coulter, and a conversion and two penalties from Mark McHugh.,br>In the second half both sides managed just a penalty apiece.
