Galthie Doubt for Saturday

04/04/02.Fabien Galthie, the French scrum-half faces a fitness test tomorrow to determine whether or not he can play against Ireland on Saturday.

33 year old Galthie (pictured), was forced to pull out of training yesterday after sustaining a hamstring strain and the influential Stade Francais player now faces a worrying wait to see if he will be fit for his side’s Grand Slam game on Saturday.

The good news however, for coach Bernard Laporte was that wing David Bory, wing flanker Serge Betsen and number eight Imanol Harinordoquy all came through yesterday’s session and have been passed fully fit.

In England, Saracens have announced that former Australian coach Greg Smith has joined them as Director of Coaching, effective immediately until the end of the season.
