Quinlan Forced Out of A Squad

02/04/02. Alan Quinlan has been forced out of the Ireland A side for Friday’s grand slam decider in La Roche sur Yon. Tony McWhirter replaces the Munster wing forward.

Quinlan suffered a knee ligament injury in the A game against Italy in Donnybrook and is expected to be out of action for a further three weeks.

Out-half Paul Burke is doubtful after sustaining an ankle injury and Barry Everitt is called into the squad.

The side will be announced at mid-day today.
