Schools Competitions Nearing Conclusion

06/03/02.Belvedere and St Mary’s will contest the Senior final in Leinster, Campbell College are through in Ulster while PBC and St Munchins will contest the Patricks Day final in Munster

06/03/02.Yesterday’s 34-7 win over Castleknock College gives St Mary’s College a St Patrick’s Day date with Belvedere College in the final of the Coca Cola sponsored Leinster Schools Senior Cup. It will be just the second time this pair have met in the final, the last time being in 1946 when Belvedere won 8-0.

In Ravenhill yesterday Campbell College qualified for the Ulster final when they defeated Wallace High School 30-8. They now play the winners of the Methodist College v Bangor Grammar School clash which takes place tomorrow, Thursday, in Ravenhill (2.30pm).

Presentation Brother College (PBC) accounted for arch rivals CBC, 6-5 in Musgrave Park last Sunday and they go forward to play last year’s beaten finalists, St Munchins, on St Patrick’s Day.
