AIB League Next Weekend.

05/03/02.The clash of Garryowen and Shannon in Dooradoyle on Saturday will undoubtedly attract the biggest crowd when the AIB League resumes next weekend.

After this weekend we should have a little clearer picture of who will be contesting the knock-out stages of the AIB League. The televised game features Garryowen and Shannon while second placed Cork Constitution travel to Oak Park to play a Co Carlow side who will be looking to pull off the shock of the year.

Third placed Clontarf face a difficult trip to Buccaneers while UCD also have a tricky away engagement in Stradbrook.

At the bottom of the table, even if they manage to beat St Mary’s in Tom Clifford Park, Young Munster look destined for relegation. They are 12 points adrift of DLSP who have home advantage over Ballymena.

Belfast Harlequins have already secured their place in Division One next year and they travel to Leixlip for what should be a real cracker against fourth placed Barnhall. UL Bohemians should consolidate their second place with home advantage over Dolphin but Old Crescent face a difficult away trip to bottom of the table City of Derry.

Following on from their shock win over Crescent last time out Wanderers could put a little more distance between themselves and Division Three if they were to beat Midleton at Merrion Road.

Match of the day in Division Three sees third placed Old Wesley take on leaders Greystones in Donnybrook. Wesley can’t really afford to lose this one. They are seven points off the lead and just three points ahead of Monkstown in fifth, and Connemara in sixth place.

Bottom placed Richmond are at home to second last Bangor with third from bottom Instonians home to Suttonians, and Skerries away to Clonakilty in a game they really need to win.
