Nothing short of a complete collapse can prevent Belfast Harlequins from a place in Division One of the AIB league next season. Their latest success, 48-15 over UCC at The Mardyke,
moves them eleven points clear at the top of Division Two with four games to go. Undoubtedly their next two games will be the toughest, home to second placed UL Bohemians followed by a visit to Parsonstown and a match with promotion chasing Barnhall, before ending with games against Portadown (home) and Sunday’s Well (away).

Just two points separate second placed Ul Bohemians and Old crescent in third. If Bohs lose next time out up north then Crescent will go second unless Wanderers produce the shok of the season in Rosbrien. That would leave Crescent in pole position for a return to Division One with a potential promotion decider coming in mis March when Crescent host Bohs.

Barnhall currently on 35 five points, four points adrift of Old Crescent, have a tough run in with away games in Cork against Dolphin and Midleton and home to Harlequins and CRescent and they may have to wait another year to launch a challenge for the top division.

At the bottom of the table, Wanderers have enjoyed little luck on the field and seem certain to be relegated as do City of Derry who never recovered from the sanction of losing points for using an ineligible player.
