Welsh coach Graham Henry and captain Scott Quinnell were unable to hide their disappointment with their side’s capitulation when they attended the post match press conference.

Henry said “there are no excuses, the Irish played superbly, they have matured as a side, they are playing with confidence and a very positive attitude. That said I am very disappointed, i’d have to be after a result like that.”

Quinnell bemoaned the number of penalyies his side conceded. “We gave away too many penalties early on. The Irish pressure forced us into making mistakes. Now we have to try and eradicate the negatives and work towards improving our game.”

Eddie O’Sullivan the Irish coach felt that, “The good start and the early scores helped us settle but the turning point really was the start to the second half and again the early scores. There had been a lot of pressure on the side, there was a lot of expectation out there and I’m happy to say the players handled that extremely well.”.
